Medical Explorers
Considering a career in health care?
CoxHealth Medical Explorers is a great way to learn what it takes.
Medical Explorers Post 229 started in November 1968 as the first medical exploring post in the United States. The CoxHealth Medical Explorers program is a rewarding, non-traditional educational avenue for students ages 15-20 trying to decide if a health care career fits into their future. Explorers may begin their program in September or February. All qualifications must be met to be eligible for this exclusive, high quality program.

Open house
Attendance at the open house is not required—if you do not make it, please stop by the Volunteer Office to turn in your application and have your picture taken. This is a come and go event. At the open house you can turn in your completed application, try on scrubs (they will be ordered then handed out a meeting), have your picture taken for your name tag and ask questions.

Orientation meeting is Tuesday, March 6 at 6 p.m. in the Foster Auditorium at Cox Medical Center South.
Attendance at the first Medical Explorers meeting IS REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW AND RETURNING EXPLORERS. Only one meeting time will be offered. If you are unable to attend, you must wait until the next enrollment.

Once approved for the program, your Medical Explorers membership is good for one year.
